    1. [HEF] BEAMAN - 1861 census
    2. Hi listers I'm new to the list, and am searching for the whereabouts of my great great grandfather and possibly 3 of his children, they could be living together. Father - WILLIAM BEAMAN Daughters - CECILY, ELIZABETH and LUCY. Son - JAMES. In 1851 they were living in Sedgley, Staffordshire, after much searching, confusingly I found William and Cecily living in Llandenny (Monmouthshire) in 1871 with his daughter Cecily, he was listed as a coal merchant (which is correct) but he was named as Joseph W Brown, all other details were correct. The trade directories of around that time named the merchant as Brown also. But, William Beaman died in Llandenny in 1875 and his grave and headstone still remain in the churchyard today - all a bit mysterious!! I have searched the 1861 census for Llandenny but it appears as they did not live there then. I feel they were living perhaps near or around Hereford. If any kind sole out there has extracts of 1861 for these areas, could they help? Or if anyone knows of a reasonably priced researcher they could recommend could they let me know? Peter Beaman, Plymouth.
