Dear Listers, I am researching the above surnames.I have a John SANKEY b. Staunton Lacy, Shrop. in 1815 who married a Mary CASTRY b. Leintwardine, Hereford 6/2/ 1840 in 1865. He had been married to a Sarah? who had been born about 1821 and died about 1855.He had 5 children with Mary: Henry(Harry), Emily J., Thomas(Tom), George, and Charles.They lived for a long time in Kingsland. My line comes from Henry (b. 17/11/1867) who married Edith Ellen SCANDRETT(b.18/8/1867) in March 1893 in Leominster. They moved away to Sheffield, then to Nottm. On the SCANDRETT side I have John b.1827-1828 in Kingsland married to Mary DODD b.1836-37 Bromley, Kent. They had 6 children: John, James William, Mary Catherine, Caroline Emma, Edith Ellen and Agnes. Any info on any of these, especially if it takes me back further, and whether there are still Sankeys living in Herefordshire, would be very gratefully received, In anticipation, Mike Holt.
