Hi Bob I know you meant well, but I don't think a few hours drive (and another few back again) to the Herefordshire Record Office would be a very fruitful exercise in this particular case. There was a similar posting to this on the ENG-LIVERPOOL mailing list a couple of days ago seeking information concerning a John BLACKHURST who died (possibly in Hereford) in 1967. The only record the HRO would have of an event as recent as this would be the GRO Index, which is of course freely available in any library or record office anywhere in the UK. I have given the enquirer on the Liverpool list the reference from the GRO Deaths index and suggested that a copy of the death certificate from either the Hereford Registrar or ONS Southport would be a good starting point.
