There are more than 400 marriage settlements from all over England, mostly from the 1600s and 1700s, but including some as old as the 1500s and some as late as 1800s. Arranged alphabetically by groom's surname, these entries include the bride's and groom's names, names of parents and previous spouses, children, indenture date, occupations, places of residence, and grants of land, houses, dowries, etc. Sometimes the signatures, family seals or abbreviated family charts are included.
