HI everyone. Recently I have seen some Sankey information coming over these Lists, and I was surfing the internet tonight and found some information. I do have a record of a John Waring baptized 1722 in Leominster, Herefordshire to Andrew Waring. Cound this be the same Waring as below? Site address: http://www.sankey.demon.co.uk/v4_jour2000.html 09/FEB/2000 Looking at the December issue of Midland Ancestor, noticed that there was an entry with an interest in the name Sankey, and in the December issue of the Shropshire FHS journal another two interests quoted. Wrote to all three, and today had an e-mail from John McLinden: I received your letter this morning. My Sankey connection is that Elizabeth Sankey married John Waring in Astley Abbotts on 19th June 1741. John and Elizabeth had 7 children, as far as I know: Ann b. 29.12.1743 in Berrington SAL; m. Edward Lewis in Condover SAL on 21.12.1765 - my ancestors John b. 8.10.1747 in Berrington SAL; d. 2.6.1778 in Cantlop SAL Richard b. 18.9.1750 in Berrington SAL Elizabeth b.11.11.1752 in Cantlop SAL Lucy b. 27.8.1754 in Cantlop SAL; m. John Saxton by license St Chad Shrewsbury 29.11.1782. William b.30.12.1756 in Berrington SAL; d. 6.9.1758 in Berrington SAL William b.27.3.1760 in Berrington SAL Elizabeth died in Cantlop SAL on 15.11.1785. Now, Richard is not a Waring family name. Does it belong with the Sankey family? Can you make a connection? I have not been able to make a convincing join between Elizabeth and any Sankeys but you may be able to from the opposite direction!
