I've always assumed that "Dolvach" was a specific house - there are Parrys there later (in the 1879 and 1905 Directories, plus the 1881 census, although it's spelt "Dolvaoth" on the cds.) The 'neighbours' on the cds have different addresses, hence my assumption. I checked the 1891 census this morning and same again there - Parrys at Dolvach (RG12/4580/2 86a schedule 58) and no other schedules for that address. If it's any help, I listed the house names to see if it's possible to pick up any clues as to where it is/was, from the enumerator's route:- Caerperthy Botterell New Fram Old Castle Crafty Webb (15 households) Bewfield Farm Little Bewfield Woola Bronttiss Clay Pitts (2 households) Pipers? (x2) Hip Close Old Weston Morgan's Place Longlass (x2) Ann Lewis Merbage Merbage Turners Boat (x2) The Weston New Cottage (x2) Old Turnpike Clay Pitts Shop & Post Office Old School (x3) The Cottage Old Court Bredwardine Bridge Toll House The Holm? House The Vicarage Town House Red Lion Inn Blacksmiths Shop Cook? Pit (x2) The Hill Craft Cottage School Cole brook The Green The Bank The Hill (x2) Old Shops Dolvach Upper Cwm Lower Cwm Unfortunately only a few of the houses are named on the OS maps (from http://uk2.multimap.com/home.html). The order in the 1881 is virtually the same except between The Cottage and the Blacksmith's shop, where it is reversed. There are also additional houses listed at the end (I'd stopped at the end on the round in the 1891). These include Pentre, so perhaps Dolvach was somewhere on the road that runs from the centre of Bredwardine out towards Dorstone? Hope that's some help anyway, Best wishes Barbara Griffiths Coventry UK http://homepage.ntlworld.com/im.griffiths/parryfamilyhistory/parryhome.htm
