A bit earlier than your lot, (just a bit though!) but is there perhaps any connection to the Rev. Richard SMITH, minister at Croft 1743 -1796? there has been a suggestion that he was connected to the SMITHs at Bircher. Now I am in the dark as to where all these places are, and my atlas doesn't help much. If anyone has any information I would be delighted to share what I have. thanks Pat -----Original Message----- From: Gerald A Cooke <geralda.cooke@btinternet.com> To: ENG-HEREFORD-L@rootsweb.com <ENG-HEREFORD-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, 6 October 2002 10:53 AM Subject: Re: [HEF] SMITH-Crasswell 1891 Look-up please >Hazel, > >First the 1851 HEF FHSoc census index has: > >Surname Fore Name Age Parish Piece Folio District >SMITH ann 03 Llanveynoe 1978 671b Hereford >SMITH Vere 07W Llanveynoe 1978 671b Hereford >SMITH John 09 Llanveynoe 1978 671b Hereford >SMITH James 34 Llanveynoe 1978 671b Hereford >SMITH Pheobe 35 Llanveynoe 1978 671b Hereford > >So Vere did just make it. > >In 1891 as a follow up to the 18881 information you supplied > >Surname Christian Name Age Parish Born County Parish Found Piece No Folio >SMITH VEAR 5 CRASWALL HEF CRASWALL RG12/2066/2 78B >SMITH JAMES 10 CRASWALL HEF CRASWALL RG12/2066/2 78B >SMITH ALFRED 12 CRASWALL HEF CRASWALL RG12/2066/2 78B >SMITH ELIZABETH 33 CRASWALL HEF CRASWALL RG12/2066/2 78B >SMITH VEAR? 40 LLANVEYNOE HEF CRASWALL RG12/2066/2 78B > >Also in 1891 there is another Vere SMITH aged 7 > >Surname Christian Name Age Parish Born County Parish Found Piece No Folio >SMITH MARY JANE 6 LLANVEYNOE HEF LLANVEYNOE RG12/2066/2 55A >SMITH VERE 7 LLANVEYNOE HEF LLANVEYNOE RG12/2066/2 55A >SMITH PHOEBE 7 LLANVEYNOE HEF LLANVEYNOE RG12/2066/2 55A >SMITH BLANCH 8 LLANVEYNOE HEF LLANVEYNOE RG12/2066/2 55A >SMITH JAMES 9 LLANVEYNOE HEF LLANVEYNOE RG12/2066/2 55A >SMITH JOHN 10 LLANVEYNOE HEF LLANVEYNOE RG12/2066/2 55A >SMITH MARY 39 LLANVEYNOE HEF LLANVEYNOE RG12/2066/2 55A >SMITH JAMES 37 LLANVEYNOE HEF LLANVEYNOE RG12/2066/2 55A > >Gerald > >----- Original Message ----- >From: <SWLady123@aol.com> >To: <ENG-HEREFORD-L@rootsweb.com> >Sent: Saturday, October 05, 2002 8:34 PM >Subject: [HEF] SMITH-Crasswell 1891 Look-up please > > >> I was hoping there may be a very kind person who may look up this family >in >> 1891 census please.
