    3. >>Is any one connected to these people ? I think John could be a brother to my James EVANS 71 yrs old in 1881 census birth place Walford Ross Can any one add to these people? or comment regards Vicky HARDING New Zealand<< Hi Vicky, For what it's worth I've got an odd collection of Walford material - blame my WILLIAMS lot. Anyway EVANS and The Dam are mentioned amongst my info. In the Tithe Apportionment for Walford c.1843 there's William EVANS who is owner/occupier of several pieces of land and a cottage situated between The Dam and Howle Green. Also:- Voters Lists for Walford 1859/60 Voter: Thomas EVANS Place of abode: The Dam Qualification: Freehold house & land Property situated: Howl Hill Lascelles & Co. Directory and Gazetteer of Herefordshire 1851 Trades, Farmers etc. Thomas EVANS, farmer, Howl Gr[een] I noticed the name Herbert EVANS in the 1881 census details:- Kelly's Herefordshire Directory 1934 EVANS, Herbt. smallholder, Yew Tree cott. Kiln gr[een] EVANS, Herbt. Elijah, farmer, Edge hill, Howle Hill - same for 1937, 1941. Good luck.
