    1. [HEF] WATKINS early 1800s - help please!
    2. Mal Hale
    3. Hello all I am very stuck at the moment and hope someone will be able to help me. My gggrandmother, Jane, was a young widow when she married (?) Thomas Howard of Peterchurch in the late 1820s.Their first son was born 1829. On the birth cert of their son her name was written as 'formerly Watkins'. I assume this to be her first husband's surname, not her maiden name, so I need to identify him to discover her maiden name. Jane was born c.1802/3 in Radnorshire. I have gone through all the Watkins burials indexed and have a few possible candidates. I was wondering if anyone knows any of them and could tell me who they married and so help me to whittle the number down a bit. John Michaelchurch E. buried M.ch 1825 aged 34 Peter of Cwm buried Clodock 1829 aged 26 Thomas Staunton buried 1823 aged 31 Edward of Hopes Newton buried Dilwyn 1826 aged 27 James of St Owens Without buried1828 aged 23 James of Church St Here. buried 1828 aged 25 John of Aconbury Hill buried Much Birch 1821 aged 26 John of Ponsall buried Weston u Penyard 1824 aged 25 Thomas Michaelchurch on Arrow buried 1824 aged 35 Thomas of Folley buried Eardisland 1828 aged 38 Thomas of Ross buried 1822 aged 23 William of Dorstone buried 1829 aged 23 Many thanks for reading this and if you have any ideas I would love to hear.
