I hope I have just found a clue to our lost relation in Australia. The family story goes a BEVAN relation used to buy up Sheep from the farmers in Garway Hill and ship them to NZ in late 1800's I have found this in the 1871 census for Grosmont Hereford: William BEVAN head 42 landowner Grosmont Francis Elizabeth BEVAN wife 27 Hampton Here William Davy BEVAN 11 months Grosmont Mary Sophia BEVAN neice 11 Kild Melbourne,Victoria, Australia.
