    3. Hello List, Thank you for letting us know that the 1851 census is indexed. I live in Alberta, Canada and have a hard time tracing ancestors in Hereford. I'm looking for a James Price born Clodock. I believe he was married in 1851as his son, my great grandfather was born in 1851 in Clodock. I would really appreciate it if someone could look this name up and if a possible one is found could you tell me how to go about obtaining expanded info from the census? Thank you so much. Gladys

    3. Hello Gladys This looks very much like your great-grandfather's family :- 1851 Census Herefordshire. Longtown, Brynn Head. James PRICE, head, m, 33, cripple under Union, HEF Dorstone. Hannah, wife, m, 31, HEF Clodock. Hannah, daughter, 6, HEF Clodock. George, son, 7 months, HEF Clodock. I couldn't find the family in the 1861 Census (which isn't indexed, of course). George doesn't feature in the Clodock baptisms register, but there is an entry on 3 November 1852 for an Andrew, son of James & Hannah PRICE of Brynn Turnpike, labourer. As I think you already know, an Andrew PRICE was one of the witnesses to George PRICE's marriage to Annie WOOLF in Kington on 27 March 1876. There would seem every chance that the marriage at Clodock on 10 December 1842 between James PRICE and Hannah WATKINS is that of George's parents, providing the link to the other witness at his own wedding viz Emma WATKINS. Hope this helps.
