Hello everyone I am new to the list and thought I would post my interests. I am interested in John Thurston of a place described as "above Tirley" in Gloucestershire England who died in 1782. The place "above Tirley" looks like Jurly but the writing is difficult to read. Perhaps it is just a farm name....anyway - John Thurston owned considerable real estate in Gloucester and Herefordshire when he died. His first wife was Mary (married 1752) who died around 1760 and his second was Sarah (married c 1761) who was still alive in 1786. His children by Mary were Mary (Beavan), Sarah (Simmons) and Margaret (Cooke/Leyson) and by Sarah were Esther, Diana and John. Oral family history says that the children Mary and Sarah were incorrectly "registered" as the children of John & Sarah.
