Hi Doreen Sorry, but I don't see what an 1871 look-up in Hereford would tell you about this family that you haven't already got from the 1881 Birmingham, other than that everyone would be 10 years younger. You know from the 1881 that Elizabeth had an older brother George, born Hereford 1863/4, and two younger brothers - Henry, born Hereford 1869/70 and William, born Birmingham 1871/2. This tells you that the family was living in Hereford between 1863 and 1870 but moved to Birmingham some time between March 1870 and March 1872. The 1871 Hereford Census isn't indexed, so it would be quite a slog trawling through it looking for your EVANS family. And this would of course be pointless if they'd already gone to Birmingham by Census day 1871.
