I have a copy of a birth certificate of my g-g-grandfather. He was born in 1876 and the copy is dated 15 July 1889 and states that it is a copy for the Elementary Edition Act. Can anyone tell me what this Act was?
Hello John, I think it would be a copy he would have obtained when he left school as proof of his age.
