    1. [HEF] JAUNCEY, BURLOUGH dates too close

    3. Hi All, I would like some opinions on this information. It comes from the IGI and Parish records transcribed by Sheila Marsh. There is also related information in Ancestral File but that is demonstrably wrong and appears to be manufactured from a death certificate in which the names appear in non chronologival order (but some ages are given!). The dates shown here are critical to my research. 1. James Jauncey married Mary Burlough 13 May 1815 Ledbury 2. Harriet Jauncey christened 21 Jan 1816 Ledbury 2. John Jauncey christened 6 Oct 1816 Colwall Green 2. Benjamin Jauncey christened 17 Feb 1819 Colwall (Names in records vary, including Johnsey, Jauncy, Burloe) I need to be sure these are the first two children of the marriage. It seems likely and is supported by other information, but there are other James Jauncey's around. With 8 months between marriage and first christening and less than 9 months between first and second christening this just doesn't seem possible. John Jauncey claimed to be 55 in Feb 1873. If he was born in 1817 this would be consistent and solve the puzzle, but this is an unlikey transcription error. I would appreciate an opinion from someone with more experience with these things. Best wishes, Rod Selden
