Being fairly new to this list, I'd like to post my surname interests if you all don't mind :-) If anyone recognizes these names or has any suggestions please contact me: John Bishop - born approx. May of 1842 in Broadway, Somerset, England. He married: Mary Ann Standerwick - born approx. August 13, 1842 in Bickenhall, Somerset, England. I have conflicting birthplaces though such as: Taunton and Minehead. John & Mary Ann immigrated approx. 1883 to the Chicago area and remained there raising their family. They had a total of 10 children but 3 are unaccounted for and were known as deceased by 1900 (according to USA 1900 Census). I have no info on those 3 but here are the remaining 7 children: John Bishop Jr. - born approx. 1866 in Bickenhall, Somerset, England. Angelina Bishop - born approx. 1869 in Clovelly, Devon, England. She married Unknown Moore. She remained in Nottingham - never immigrated with family. In fact, her siblings remained with her until parents John & Mary Ann sent for them to the States. Hannah Bishop - born approx. 1871 in Tarrington, Devon, England. I believe Tarrington should be Torrington though and this could be the reason I can't find a birth record for her. William Voss Bishop (my g.grandfather) - born approx. April 12, 1881 in Basford, Nottingham, England. He married Minnie Alma Brown and their children are: Harvey, William (my grandpa), John, Glen, Alma, Edna, Ruth, Violet, & Evelyn. James Johnston Bishop - born approx. 1878 in Hereford, Herefordshire, England. 1st wife ? and had 1 or 2 children with her. He then married Lillian Stahl. Their children are James and Dorothy. Charlotte (Lottie) Bishop - born in 1885 in the Chicago, Illinois area. She married Earl Bristol and lived their married lives in Battle Creek, Michigan. Their children are Arnold and Ruth. Gertrude Bishop - born in 1888 in the Chicago, Illinois area. She married Eugene John Garrett and they lived their married lives in Blue Island, Illinois. Their children are: Gertrude, Violet, Eugenia, Mabel, and Carol Lee. I am searching for any and all information on the children that did not immigrate with the rest of the family: John Jr., Angelina, and Hannah. I am also searching for the names and ancestry of both John Sr. and Mary Ann. According to my g.grandpa's obit, Angeline was listed as Angeline Moore from Nottingham and this was in 1947.
