    3. I have the marriage cert. for John Oliver Cottle and Lydia Sarah Powell for November 1844. At that time John was living in New St St Peters Hereford and was a wardsman at gaol. Lydia (known as Sarah) was a spinster residing at Bye Street St Peters. Their fathers were George Cottle (Gentleman Servant) and James Powell (Tailor). The couple were still resident in New Street in January 1945 when their son Henry was born but by December 1846 they were in Blaenavon in Wales and he was a coal miner. My problem is that I have been unable to locate them in a census. They are not in the 1851 census for Blaenavon. Is it possible that someone resident in Hereford would be able to find them or their respective parents in Hereford in 1841. It's very wet here in Auckland (New Zealand) so I do hope that you are finally enjoying a summer in the UK. Beryl
