Hi I have a marriage certificate in 1953 at Kings Pyon where the Bride's Rank or Profession is shown as W.L.D. Anyone any idea what W L D is? Jim
Greg, There are other Alice JAUNCEY marriages outside of the 1891 to 1901 period but during that time there appears to be just one Alice Margaret JAUNCEY Wellington, Shropshire 1901 qtr 2 ref 6a 1700 to either Henry Griffiths or Thomas Jones. I didn't see any deaths of the right age during that period. She was born as one of triplets to George and Ann Jauncey at Leigh, Worcestershire in 1862. In 1889 Ann gave birth to an illegitimate daughter, Ann Matilda Jauncey. My last record of Alice is the 1891 census, where she was living with her sister Sophia Catherine Winters in Munsley, Herefordshire. I can find no trace of Alice Jauncey in the 1901 census, although her daughter was by this time living with her grandmother back in Leigh. >From this, I am assuming that Alice either died or got married between 1891 and 1901, but I can find no trace of either. In the Daily Journal, Thursday April 1st 1731 On the 27th past Robert WEAVER condemned at Hereford Assizes was executed for the Robbery and Murder of Thomas MATTHEWS, Bailiff to Mr MONINGTON and afterwards hung in chains upon White Hill in the Parish of Weobley near the place where he committed the Fact, of which he made an ample Confession; declaring that it was not his Intent to murder the said MATTHEWS but Mr MONINGTON, his Master. and that he met with this untimely Fate thro' the Persuasions of one who was admitted an Evidence against him.
