Eric, If you try the Royal Mail find postcode facility, you will find a Summergales at HR6 0AB. http://postcode.royalmail.com They provide a map!! You can see the location. It is about reference 491606 about 1/2 mile South of where the lane to Eyton branches off the B4361. Regards, Alec Whitfield from North Herefordshire UK alec.whitfield@tiscali.co.uk
An early C20th will refers to property at "The Summergales", Parish of Eyton, Herefordshire. I can find Eyton, of course, but wonder if anyone with local knowledge knows anything about The Summergales, please? All and any info will be gratefully received. Eric Kelly In Flintshire

I'm researching someone murdered in Pennsylvania, USA. Sounds like I'm way off base right? Interestingly enough this occured pre-Rev. War. A Capt. Jacob was supposedly killed on Sept. 8th, 1756 and the official records here say he did die on that date. One source says his death was confirmed by his scalp and items on his person. Another source says he was burned to death in his cabin. Today I went to the PA State Archives building and found some very old hand written documents that claim that he was seen with his family alive the day AFTER the masacur. The source of the information was from a young boy living with the French. The source of the story wsa a set of books called "London's History. Indian Wars. Vol. 71 (possibly 11). 173 The article was written by a man named Robinson. I've searched the web and found absolutly NOTHING on these books, files, or the story of the young boy. I have had my suspicians (or hopes) that Capt. Jacob survived before and now I have found a possibility but I can't find the books. Can you help? Thanks, Renee L. I have a will of 1666 which makes reference to a parish in HEF but the name is unknown to me. The name appears to read: "Storkon in the p'ish of Bymorton and the County of Hereford" The script is fairly clear considering the date and the rest of the will I have easily transcribed. Could Bymorton be an early rendition of Byton? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance, David Matthews
I am searching for the marriage of Phillip Green to Mary ?? I have found the Baptism of Thomas Green, 23/12/1817 at Peterstow, Herefordshire. They continued to have their children baptised at Peterstow for the next 13 years. There is an entry in the 1851 census which could be Mary, no husband, it gives her age as approx 1786 and being born at Peterstow. Does anyone know of online access to information on the parish? If anyone has access to the pairsh records, could the please take a look for the marriage, or if anyone is visiting the local records office. Thankyou Julie County Durham
It is possible that it is Birtsmorton in Worcs. My apologies for all on Midmarch as well but I am wondering if anyone is researching the Winbridge/Winkbridge family who were in Pencombe and Winslow in the early 1800s. I am interested in any connections with the Jones family of Pencombe/Winslow and Grendon Bishop Thank you Barbara Haner
