    3. Dear List, I am Peter Williams and I am researching two branches of my family WILLIAMS and PRICHARD. Both were originally in Monmouthshire, but I think there my be links in Herefordshire too, as they lived in the border parishes of Skenfrith, Rockfield and St Maughans. I hope to find some more information through this list. Peter Williams

    2. A. Sharples
    3. I have drawn a blank in my search for data on the following Herefordshire ancestors: My great grandfather James Humphries (born Ledbury about 1821) and his father William Humphries, born Ledbury about 1791. I have not been able to trace any data on William's antecedents. I hope to visit the Hereford records office this Autumn but if anyone has any specific information in the meantime I would be very glad to receive it. Thank you Alan Sharples

    1. [HEF] Eardisley Burial Register for 1887
    2. Diane Johansen
    3. I am interested to know whether the Eardisley Parish Burial Registers for 1887 are available in any format for searching? My grandmother's baby brother, William Andrew PRICE, son to Charles and Susannah, was born in Willersley in 1887 and died later that year. I was hoping to find a burial date and place for him. I have William's baptism entry in the Eardisley Parish Records for 21st March 1887 and believe he may have died shortly after so was likely to have been buried at Eardisley, though I am not holding out much hope that there may have been a headstone for him there. Thank you Diane Johansen Researching PRICE Eardisley, Weobley, Lyonshall 19th C.

    3. He appears to be the son of James PRESSEY b.c. 1843-4 Westbourne Sussex and Jane in 1881 census(which is free to look at). You can find James's birth and parents on the IGI. This family comes from Westbourne earlier on and I can find no connection with Herefordshire at all. Why do you think his relatives are from Hereford? According to 1901 census, Henry was previously married to an Ada b.c. 1878 who came from Portsmouth. At that time he had children Henry P aged 3 and Elsie E A aged 2 Hope this helps dawn.cumbley@virgin.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "April Clark" <adale41@googlemail.com> To: <ENG-HEREFORD@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2008 1:48 PM Subject: [HEF] Pressey >I am looking for family connections in Hereford of Henry Philip > Pressey, Master Mariner born 17/4/1878 Portsmouth and who died > Woolwich 19/4/1946. > > Married a widow Sarah Baird Kay 28/8/1934 Woolwich. > > Anxious to find more info about Henry as he was a grandfather I never > knew about. 1. [HEF] The Fuller family
    2. Watkins, John
    3. In August 1917 Mary Fuller wrote to her 20 yr. old son, Frederick Fuller of the 1/1st battalion of teh Hereford Regiment was a prisoner of war in Turkey but the letter was never delivered to him as he had died some months previously. Although his name is on the Shobden war memorial Frederick's next of kin were living in Tarrington during the war years and indeed up to 1933. The parents of the dead soldier were Charles F Fuller and Mary A. Fuller; he had a younger sister, Daisy who was also living in Tarrington in 1933. I think that she may have been a school teacher who never married. A historian in Turkey would like to return the letter to a family member but they remain elusive. I found the family in the 1901 census living in Baughton Hill, Hill Croome, Worcestershire; Charles Fuller was working as a coachman and at that time he and Mary had just the two children. I am making enquiries to see if any other children of theirs were baptised at Croome Hill. If anyone can suggest other lines of research I would be most grateful to hear from them. 3. I am looking for Presseys who lived in Hereford. My grandmother, Ada Pressey who died in Hereford 1930 is buried there, before I was born 1932. I never knew about her and Grandfather Philip Henry Pressey till about 2-3 years ago. I have found out that he remarried in Woolwich, London and died in the hospital there 1946. I am just trying to find info on any part of his life and would appreciate confidentiality if any person so chooses who replies. Just need gaps filled about Ada's life with grandfather. It rather looks as though they travelled a lot as he was in the Navy working for the War Dept. Seaman, Boatswain, Master Mariner. Then, we think, a Tugboat pilot on the Thames? Any positive info is welcome. Regards. April Clark
