    1. [HEF] I need some help with some old Latin Please.
    2. Hi everyone. If you go to the web address below it will take you to an old book page with shields of Heraldry. The checkered shield I believe is for the Warrenne family, perhaps spelled Warrenni in the text. Could someone take a look at it for me and see if it can be read? This represents a challenge for those that are interested in taking it up as this book goes back to the 1500th century. Like I have always said, go to the source. It's not very often that you find one on line this old though. God Bless, and thank you. I hope someone out there is up to this one. Any Catholic Priests out there? Sincerely, Renee L. 3. Thomas HARTLAND married 1762 at Bosbury to Elizabeth PASSEY and John FARMER married 1775 at Bosbury to Elizabeth INSOLE Their off-spring, Joseph HARTLAND, & Hannah FARMER, married at Bosbury, in 1799. Joseph & Hannah had a daughter Jane christened at Bosbury in 1801. Joseph and Hannah then appear at Bredon in Worcester in 1813 [no further mention found of Jane] Does anyone know where I could search to find where they may have been in those 12 years? Joseph was a labourer, so possibly had to go further afield for work. I have attempted to find 1802 - 1812 christenings through the IGI but no luck. Thanks, Esma

    1. [HEF] Edward DAVIES and Benedictus
    2. Gary Mason
    3. I have an Edward DAVIES born abt 1802, who in the 1851 census for Ruardean, GLS was listed as being born in "Hereford"... not clear whether its the town or county. One distinguishing thing about this gentleman was that he was an engineer (not a common profession), and he married a Ruardean girl with the first name Benedictus (born Ruardean abt 1708). Can anyone guide me in the best way to conduct Hereford city research ? Are there on-line indexes of christenings ? I'm trying to avoid having to go through the film for every Hereford parish looking for the family. Gary Mason Calgary __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 1. [HEF] Interesting Problem
    2. Listers, I have been chasing a Thomas GREENLY and his wife Mary LOYD for some long time now but have been completely unable to find a place of birth. All sightings are in MON but I have reason to believe that the couple came from HEF. They had a child in Llanfihangel Pontymoile MON in 1821. Nine months later, they married in Dixton Newton, MON. They had two further children in Chepstow, MON and a fourth in Monmouth MON in 1832. The family has been found in the 1851 census in Monmouth but Thomas is missing - presumed dead - therefore no place of birth. It is possible that Thomas was born in Dilwyn HEF in 1782. This particular Thomas GREENLY married a Francis DAVIS in Eardisland in 1809. They appear to have had no children. Just down the road lived a William LOYD (same unusual spelling). His wife was called Mary LOYD (!) and they had one child, Ann, in 1811. The ages of both Thomas and Mary are just right. Both were older than one would normally expect when they married Does anyone out there know anything about Francis DAVIS or William LOYD? Is there any record of their deaths before 1820? If it is them, what happened to the daughter Ann? Did she die too? Alternatively, if you know that Thomas and Francis or William and Mary lived together to a ripe old age, I would love to know so that I can bark up another tree! Any suggestions as to how to prove it either way would be most appreciated. David Matthews

    1. [HEF] WEALE - Ashford - Hereford
    2. Janet Barry
    3. I'm posting this message with the hope that somebody can tell me whether Ashford was/is in Herfordshire. I have an entry from the 1901 census which states that my Ggrandfather Wilfred WEALE was born abt 1861 in Ashford , Herefordshire. His son Richard WEALE bn abt 1895 was also supposed to have been born there. can this be right? if not where is Ashford? The family were living in Ludlow a year later ( where 2 more children Wilfred & Annie were born, then Aston Munslow where 3 more children John, Emily and Ethel were born). I am really having problems with tracing this part of the family and would appreciate some help. Has anybody seen these names anywhere? _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com
