I am researching into my Grandmothers family the BUTCHERS. I have found a photo of an articl about her father - George Henry BUTCHER born 7th Feb 1875. I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the article as I have tried to find it but I think the magazine does not exhist anymore. The article was titled 'G.H. Butcher, O.B.E. - "The Dragon"'. It was by Edgar N. Duffield in The Garage & Motor Agent magazine dated August 27th 1949 ! So I guess there is little chance but thought it worth a chance, or does anyone know where else I can look? Yours Jane Slowgrove I am also looking into my maiden name WORLOCK & my married name SLOWGROVE. _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com
Dear list, I am reposting this as it did not come up by default on my screen as they usually do, though I have had other messages. Pat Does anyone have access to parish registers or know anything about the marriage of Ann SMITH to Benjamin GOODISON 17 April 1766 at Croft? What I really want to know is something about her. I have masses of info about his family and very happy to share. I have only just found this on the IGI I have been looking in London for years because that's where he was. Anything about Croft too which, stupidly I took to be a surname. Their grandson was called Benjamin Croft Goodison. (Well wouldn't you?) and I have searched for Crofts too and nothing ....... I'd be delighted with any thing at all. Reaching a desperation point in fact!! thanks Pat

Hi everybody I'm returning to the list after a short break. I need help I am still looking for my Weale family. Wilfred WEALe bn circa 1861 son of Richard WEALE. Both of these guys were grooms. I have traced Wilfred to Ludlow, Salop 1894 marrying Annie POTTS but I have nothing on him prior to that date (Richard is noted as deceased on Wilfred's marriage certificate). On the maarriage certificate it says that he was born in Ashford - could be Bowdler or Carbonal or is there another? I am now trying Herefordshire for this family as my dad has a bee in his bonnet that the family came from Bartestree. Please, please, please can somebody help me? _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com

I noticed the Gwatkin name on the list recently. My great great grandmother was Ann Gwatkin, b 1801 at Brampton Abbot, married James Dowding there in 1827 and lived in Weston under Penyard thereafter. Any connections ? I have no other info on her.
Thanks to all who responded to my message asking for help in locating the above in the 1841 census. Thomas POWELL and his parents remain elusive in 1841 (Thomas and his family and maybe his parents do appear in the 1851 and subsequent census's) but Mary GWATKIN and her parents were tracked down and added new info to my family history Some messages to me appeared on the digest but did not come to me as individual messages so perhaps you did not get an individual reply of thanks - thanks again to all who responded. Hi All I am hoping someone can help me. I am trying to piece together a family tree but as my maternal grandmother died when my mother was six I am having great difficulty. I believe that they were in Eardisland as my grandmother was Fanny Marie Kington who born in 1870 and was at school in Eardisland in 1878 Her father my My Great Grandfather was Joseph Kington who was Farm Bailiff at Shelsley Walsh in Worcestershire but I cannot find that anyone named Kington was born there before 1920's. There is also a Thomas Kington named and from his age I believe he was my Great Great Grandfather I also have three other names Harriet Labina Kington Mary Jane Kington who I believe is a great Aunt and Jane Dianna Kington who died in 1915 aged 74 who I think may be my great grand mother. If anyone knows anything of the family I will be very grateful Eveline Clarke
