Hi Mal Presumably your RAD Llambutt is from a Census taken in England, in which case it's what the enumerator thought he'd heard. About 2 miles west of Llanbedr there's a place called Llanbwchllyn, sometimes separated as Llanbwch Llyn and occasionally shortened to just Llanbwch. A possibility maybe? Hi I would be grateful for any suggestions as to where the following place might be. My g g grandmother married and lived in Peterchurch and surrounding districts but her place of birth was listed as what looks like " Llambutt" Radnorshire I have tried the Radnor and Powys lists but no luck, so am hoping someone else may have had an ancestor move to Herefordshire from somewhere that looks similar to Llambutt. The nearest I can guess is Llanbedr, which may sound a little like Llambutt, but would appreciate any other suggestions. Many thanks Mal

Hi Lizzy Do you have a birth certificate for any of their children? If so it should tell you if Mary had been married before. The name of the mother would be given as - Mary Price, late "previous married surname", formerly Williams. Of course this would only be the case if Mary told the Registrar that she had been married before. My G Grandmother is recorded on my GF's birth certificate as Sarah Powell, late Powell, formerly Mills. (she married her first husband's brother after he was killed in a mining accident) On her marriage to my GF she is simply named as Sarah Powell, condition Widow, no mention of her maiden name at all. I assume that Mary was a wet nurse to Lewis White and he may not be related at all.
