I have him identified in 1871, 81, 91 and 1901. pretty sure his father is Charles Clarke and I want to prove his mum is Ann Predith from Upleadon. Can anyone help me with information on Steve PERRY and his wife Emily PERRY nee SAYCELL. They had a business in Ewyas Harold , probably a shop, in the late 1930's early 1940's. I would like to find where Emily is buried, this has been a brick wall for some years and I would appreciate any help to break it down. Maureen

I have been trying to find an answer to the question about Dog Farm and its possible connection to Dog Inn. It seems the Dog Inn became the Castle Inn for the latter part of the 19th and early part of the 20th century, before reverting to the name Dog again. I have found no references at all to Dog farm, but looking at the Inn's situation on the NW edge of the village, a farm once attached to it would lie in that direction. The Castle Lands may be the answer, and may explain the name change! In the 18th century, Castle lands and Castle home were tenanted separately, but the names may have changed together. Sorry. I somehow didn't seem to receive Steve's message to me, which is probably more to do with me than anything else...............:o) I would be delighted to hear from/help anyone with information on the SAUNDERS. In only a very short while I have received very helpful stuff from other listers and feel it is incumbent upon me to offer the same. I should like to suggest, however, that we do so on-list and with relevant subject lines so that any and all postings are retrievable from the archives with some sort of order. After all, if my senior moments get much worse I may be corresponding solely with the archives...........to see what it was I wanted in the first place ! Greetings to the list, Adele
Derek, The Herefordshire marriage index is on www.familyhistoryonline.net I couldn't find any LOVELOCK entries. Bad luck! Alec Whitfield from North Herefordshire UK [email protected]
Thanks, I appreciate that. I have looked at the map and Middleton on the Hill is not that far from where Thomas was born. I think it looks right. I, too, am looking for Saunders ... mine coming to the States in early 1800s, however. We have not located yet where they came from, but I would appreciate any information others have on Saunders. The earliest we have is a Reuben Saunders son of James Saunders. James would have come from England in the early 1800s.
I know this is a cheek after only just posting a request which was extremely successful and I would thank everyone again, this is a request about his father also a Thomas Kington. I understand from an e.mail reply a few days ago that the marriage index for Herefordshire is now complete and I am looking for a marriage of Thomas Kington to Elizabeth. Not sure when, but in the Parish Records the first child I can find for them was in 1791. So I assume the marriage would have been c 1785-1790. I would appreciate any help as this has been my brickwall for some time. Eveline
