Alec, Would this be "the" GILBERT HARDING that irascible but incredibly clever genteleman of BBC fame ? I seem to recall from yesteryear that he had Hereford connections. Hallo All, Does anyone on the list have access to the above Volume as I have been told that it contains a reference to Richard Hargest,Freeman of the City of Hereford in 1709 a Yeoman. As I would like to know what it says. Also I would like to purchase a copy of "Little Cowarne,a Herefordshire Village",by J.Hopkinson 1983 as I am interested in a Tithe Map of 1840, it reputedly contains regarding James Hargest the Owner of Three Wells. I have their wedding photo dated April 1912 but I have no idea where they were married. The only clues I have are that the photographer came from Worcester and that the bride’s father was (in 1901) the publican of the Bowling Green Inn at Norton in Herefordshire. She was in service but presumably would have gone home to marry. Has anyone any ideas how I might find out where they married so I can get the certificate. Hi Is there sks who could look up Edward Shaw (aged abt 1yr), born in Tretire and his father, Edward please. Many thanks in advance Elaine
Seeking VERRY connections - Herefordshire, ENG Initially the VERRY surname came to light with my 3*grt grandfather's youngest daughter, Elizabeth Verry MEREDITH (bn 1841, Richmond SRY). I now know that her father John MEREDITH, (par's James & Ann), was bapt. in July 1797 at Madley, near Hereford. The IGI carries what I think must be James's marriage entry, viz: 1797, St Peter's Ch, Hereford, John MEREDITH to Ann VERRY. Possible IGI Hereford bapt. matches for 'Ann VERRY' might be: 23 Apr 1766 - Saint Martin, Hereford: Ann VERRY d. of William & Elizabeth (Not sure if this refers to a village or actual parish in Hereford.) 01 Dec 1771 - Little Birch Anne VERRY d. of John & Eleanor David Meredith Nottingham

Hi Sandra, I have a Mary LONGMORE of Leintwardine who married a relative, William WELLINGS of Leintwardine on 2 June 1791 by Banns. They lived at Hill Pike (Hull Pyke) in Leintwardine. They apparently had no children because their nephew Thomas WELLINGS (my 3ggrandfather) inherited a large sum of money and lived in the large home after her death. I have a copy of her will which mentions other Longmores and also have a copy of the will of Edward LONGMORE of Adforton in the parish of Leintwardine. I don't have time to read through all these things tonight, but if they are the ones you are interested in I can send you copies of the wills. I also have a copy of Mary Longmore and William Wellings' marriage entry in the parish book as well as the burial entries for Mary Longmore and Edward Longmore. I am very interested in any WELLINGS in Herefordshire and Shropshire, especially the Ludlow, Bromfield and Leintwardine areas and would be glad to share what info I have. Pat Payne in Florida
