Martin, Isaac Brace in 1841 is shown as being 7 years old living in Linton. (Image shared). The image shows residence at Bromsash which is between Weston under Penyard and Linton. Later censuses show place of birth as Weston under Penyard. The POB of "Gandforth" shown in 1881 census cannot be found. The a2a.org.uk for Shropshire archives has a plethora of entries for Bromwich., going back to 1600's, maybe some earlier. Includes some with Bromwich as a Christian name. (Shropshire adjoins Herefordshire). Herefordshire has a few entries, some maybe place name rather than individual. Apologies if you already have found this source. Jo.
Shelia, There is only one Ward entry in the Herefordshire Burial Index of the HFHS for Ross in the period 1830 to 1839: WARD,Henry, 15 Aug 1838, of Broad St, age: 40 Ross-On-Wye St Mary 1813-1839, HEF You will be able to get his death certificate with occupation etc from this. His birth in about 1798 may be more of a problem if he was moving around. Regards, Alec Whitfield from North Herefordshire UK [email protected]
Ezziej, There are just two Bromwich entries in the Herefordshire Burial Index of the HFHS. They are: BROMWICH,Maria Elizabeth, 27 Jan 1827, of Bromyard, age: 9 Bromyard St Peter 1813-1839, HEF BROMWICH,Matilda Anne, 27 Jan 1827, of Bromyard, age: 5 Bromyard St Peter 1813-1839, HEF The Hererfordshire Burial Index is complete from 1813 to 1839. We are working -- gradually -- through the earlier registers. Regards, Alec Whitfield from North Herefordshire UK [email protected]

Thanks to this wonderful list, I now have baptism details for Mary Anne Ward - 4 June 1831, Charles Scudamore Ward - 7 August 1835, Emily Margaret Ward - 13 February 1835 and Llewellyn Ward - 24 October 1837. I was wondering if SKS would be prepared to look at the entries in the parish records to see if an occupation and/or address is given for their father Henry. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sheila
Hi Jo Yes the whole idea of this is that it does indeed search all the Lists at one time. Sheila, I don't have ready access to the PR, however the British Isles Vital Records Index CD has his parents as Henry & Mary and his baptism date of 24 October 1837. His siblings appear to be Mary Ann bapt. 4 June 1831, Charles Scudamore 7 Aug 1835 and Emily Margaret 13 February 1835. In 1841 the family minus Henry is shown as being in Gloucester. I hope that helps a little Gerald -----Original Message----- From: Chris Metcalfe [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, June 24, 2006 6:30 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [HEF] Fw: Llewellyn WARD - Ross-on-Wye I was wondering if anyone has access to parish registers for Ross-on-Wye and would be kind enough to look up a baptism for Llewellyn Ward who was born on 6th October 1837. Eveline Your Australian relatives can get lots of information from State Records NSW where they can view the passenger list. http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/ There are also 3 volumes of Log of Logs available in most Australian libraries that give details of any journals, diaries etc and where they are held. regards Lyn in Oz. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Eveline Clarke" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Monday, June 19, 2006 6:03 PM > Subject: [HEF] Assisted passage to Australia. > > >> HI >> >> Hope someone can help me with this, my Australian line has asked if I >> could find out any information about >> people who travelled to Australia in 1852 on board the ship Ship David >> McIver which arrived in Sydney on 19th May, 1852. >> >> I believe it may have been assisted passage, however it may also be that >> the church paid the passage and they had to pay the church back. >> >> Eveline >> >> >> ==== ENG-HEREFORD Mailing List ==== >> . >> >> ============================== >> Jumpstart your genealogy with OneWorldTree. HI Hope someone can help me with this, my Australian line has asked if I could find out any information about people who travelled to Australia in 1852 on board the ship Ship David McIver which arrived in Sydney on 19th May, 1852. I believe it may have been assisted passage, however it may also be that the church paid the passage and they had to pay the church back. Eveline
