Hi Phil, Manythanks for e-mail, I would love to have the marriages for William South, before the first child was born 1727.The two you put up I have and have discounted them as 3 children were born prior to them. Of course thats not to say it is'nt one of those, but I find that 3 kids out of wedlock a bit hard to believe, maybe one , but I am always surprised by hour at what turns up. Kindess regards Wens
Hi List, Many thanks for all the responses to my South appeal, still in the dark, William South b.1727 married Elizabeth Rofs, in Leigh Worcester, and he was a wheelwright, I am trying to trace his father and mother, I have ordered the film for Much Cowarne, and Bishop Frome to see whether William South and Susannah were married there. I had found the marriage to William and Susana Wall but as 3 children had been born before there date of 1731 I had thought that this may be another William, I have found a William South married to a Susannah from Yorkshire in 1723, but I am not sure if they moved that far. I would like to put a special thanks in for Alec and Polly, for there kind help. Any thoughts on this is greatly appreciated as I am wondering around in the dark, like most that get back this far, and I do not know much about Hereford at all. Kindest regards. Wens

Good morning, Sounds like a solicitors doesn't it !!! I am researching names for a colleague and wonder if someone may already be doing some research on these names. I have a THOMAS RUDGE born c1843 in Hereford who was married to a ELIZABETH ?? Who was born c1847 in Stratford on Avon. They had a daughter ALICE RUDGE born c1866 in Birmingham and lived (according to 1871 census - and my interpretation) at No 1 Stake Terrace, back of 13 Hicks St ??? And another daughter SONIA born c1870, Birmingham. ALICE married a WILLIAM SQUIRES in September 1887 in Stroud, Glos I also have a WILLIAM PERCIVAL born c1863 in Carlisle, Cumbria, who married and ELIZA ??? Born c1862 in Monmouth. I am clutching at straws, that maybe someone out there is already doing some research on these trees, and I was hoping to pinch some information Here's hoping Regards, Tina Nash > >

Hi Angela You recently replied to an email from Pam requesting information on the Powell family of Brilley. I have been tracing my husband (John Evans) family line over the last five or so years, and found his 4+ grandfather to be Samuel Gwyn - mason. Born approx 1780 and married to Esther Jones at St Mary's church in Brilley in November 1815. I was unable to find a parish record at Brilley for either of their births, but found a Samuel Gwyn born Feb 1779 in Cregina (very close to Brilley) to Samuel Gwyn and Hannah Meredith. Samuel Gwyn and Hannah Meredith were married at Cregina 7th July 1771 in the presence of Humphrey Meredith and Mary Meredith. My research falters at this point and after seeing your reply on the Herefordshire website, I wondered if perhaps you might throw some light on whither the Cregina Merediths are in fact related to the Brilley Merediths. Hopefully Lena Evans

Hello listers, I am researching a 3rd and 4th GGM. According to the South Weald Brentwood 1851 census Eliza LEACH bc 1815 and her mother Mary Ann were both born in Herefordshire. The place of birth given appears to be Workham. I have been unable to find such a place in Herefordshire. Does anyone know of such a place or a place name like it. I wonder whether the following names "ring any bells" with anyone. George Oswald PRICE b. l877 St. Maughans, Mon., married Mary [ - ] b. l874 Tenbury, Worcs. (possibly Mary FREEMAN). George was one of seven children born to Edwin Wm. PRICE of Dilwyn (b. l827) and his second wife, Rhoda PRITCHARD (b. ca. l85l St. Maughan's) George and Mary parents to: Amy Beatrice PRICE b. l900 Hereford All Saints (married Sydney William FLETCHER, a railwayman from "Ropewalk, Llanelly") Cissie Winifred PRICE b. 1907 Hereford (married Albert Edward SIMMONS) Gladys Irene PRICE b. 1909 Hereford (married Hilo DAVIES) The families initially lived in Berrington Street, Hereford and subsequently (l930s) at Carey/Ballingham. We know that George Oswald PRICE died in Ballingham in June l955 but do not know where he is buried. No date for his wife Mary. If anyone is familiar with Ballingham I would be grateful to know whether any monumental inscriptions have been indexed for the local church. Many thanks Diane Johansen Researching PRICE Dilwyn/Weobley/Lyonshall

Hi Pam. I have got a John Powell b. ? and an Elizabeth Meredith b.Nov 13th 1782 at the Rhydspence, Brilley. They were married on Dec 19th 1810 at St. Mary's, Brilley. I have been following the Meredith line so have no more info on the Powell side although I can offer info on the Meredith line.I haven't got any children attached to this marriage - does it sound as though 'your' Margaret belonged to them? Happy hunting Angie _________________________________________________________________ Be one of the first to try Windows Live Mail. http://ideas.live.com/programpage.aspx?versionId=5d21c51a-b161-4314-9b0e-4911fb2b2e6d
