Hello all I have the following extracted from the GRO indexes: There is an entry for a Daniel GURDLER marrying Ellen PAICE at Kingsclere in June 1863 vol 2c page 350 and for a Daniel GIRDLER marrying Ellen HUNT at Kingsclere in March 1869 vol 2c page 319. There is the death of an Ellen GIRDLER at Kingsclere in June 1865 vol 2c page 137. Does anyone know if the two Daniel's are the same person, if they are it was most inconsiderate of him to have two wives both with the same name <g>, also from the 1851 Census index and subsequent cenuses I think the Ellen's were the same age. Daniel Married Ellen Hunt at St. Paul, Woodlands on 13 Feb 1869, register entry #217. He was a _Widower_ so he must have liked the name Ellen. Witnesses were John Smith and Emma Girdler (this is most likely the dau of David and Mary Ann (Wilmott) born ca 1850, as for John Smith your guess is as good as mine. I have a John who married Hannah Webb at St. Paul's in 1851 who could foot the bill).
