    3. Hello List I have been searching in vain for my Grt Grt Grandmother's death ref in the GRO index. Charlotte Grigg was found dead in the snow nr Robley Hill Kingsclere in 1847. I was wondering ,if there would have been an inquest and may be this was the reason why her death failed to be registered. I am hoping that someone on the list may be able to offer some suggestion and point me in the direction of where I could find any records of inquests if they exist. I have searched for her as Grigg, Grieg ,Gregg and every other variation I could think of. Thanks once again. Maureen Grigg.

    3. Hello Maureen, I have got a copy of the Burial entry for your gg grandmother Charlotte GRIGG age 60 on the 19 February 1847, the curate was James Tanner. The last entry on page 14 is that of Charlotte and under the entry the curate has written "Found dead in the snow near Robley Hill" also written is "the midwife", so was she the local midwife at that time, can anyone help with that, or was the midwife at Robley Hill.? If you would like a copy of this entry, I will get a copy for you from the Basingstoke library where I got my copy from. As for an inquest, there may have been something in the local newspaper, can Peter GOFF please tell us the name of the local newspaper in 1847, perhaps the Basingstoke library will have a copy of that.
