Hello All, Yesterday I had time to go into the Basingstoke Library, I looked at the Kingsclere Banns to see what information they had. The microfiche reader was not very good, I managed to pick out a few Banns that I could read:- William GIRDLER and Elizabeth HEDGER? of Bucklesbury, Berkshire 10, 17,24 September 1758 Robert BUXEY and Judith SMITH 29 October, 5, 12 November 1758 John TIBBLE and Elizabeth Harmsworth 15, 22, 29 July 1759 Hannah JEWELL and Thomas RICHARDSON of Brimpton, Berkshire 16, 23, 30 September 1759 Thomas ROLFE and Elizabeth MARTIN 3,10,17 August 1760 Richard GRIGG and Elizabeth BOND of Wolverton 17,24,31 August 1760 Robert ROLFE and Ann TANNER/TAMER ? 18, 25, October 1 November 1761 Thomas TAYLOR and Mary DUCKETT 8, 15, 22 August 1762 Please remember that the above are Banns to be read out in church, on the Sunday of the 3 given dates, this is to say that the couple intend to get married. If anyone does not agree to the couple getting married, this is the time that they can give their objections to the couple and to the church. The couple may decide that after the Banns have been read in church, that they don't want to marry, so the above named couples may not have got married, please check this out for your self. The couple may also have got married at another church. Regards Barbara Mallyon Basingstoke, Hants, UK BarbaraMallyon@lewmal.co.uk
