    1. Virus Hoax Warning
    2. Barbara Mallyon
    3. Hello All, Here is a warning about a virus hoax. I am posting the warning to the list because it has been reported via another list and because I have been sent the hoax myself. Any replies to me privately please, and not to the list. The hoax urges you to delete a file which is actually the "Microsoft Debugger Registrar for Java". Although it is possible for the file to be infected by a virus, it is the subject of the hoax. The wording of the hoax may vary, but it will always refer to a file called JDBGMGR.EXE Some versions of the hoax misreport the name of this file as JDBMGR.EXE or JBDGMGR.EXE. More details at: http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/hoaxes/jdbgmgr.html Don't forget to keep the AntiVirus Protection up to-date and do a weekly BACKUP for your computer files. If you have McAfee AntiVirus protection their updates usually come out every Wednesday. DO NOT OPEN ANY ATTACHMENTS, EVEN FROM PEOPLE YOU KNOW, THEY MAY HAVE THE VIRUS AND MAY NOT KNOW IT. ASK WHO EVER SENT THE ATTACHMENT "WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT" PLAY SAFE. Best wishes Barbara Mallyon Basingstoke, Hants, UK BarbaraMallyon@lewmal.co.uk
