    3. Hello All Here is some information about a small utility that you run in Excel to sort data extracted from the PRO Census site into family groups. I have tried it and it works. Unfortunately it only came to my notice after I had done the same thing by hand with 2500 Goff's. I quote .............. "For the benefit of those list members who have not seen the free items below, they are very useful. 1901 Census Extractor @ http://www.leedsindexers.co.uk/Internet_Tools.htm#1901Extractor Census Extractor provides a 'pro forma' Microsoft Excel set of sheets complete with macros. What you do is simply select and copy your 1901 search results and paste them directly into the Census Extractor data sheet provided. One of the macros will enable you to then extract the unique Page ID number and the Person ID number for each of the listed search responses. A second macro' will estimate and list the piece and folio numbers. In practice I have found the folio numbers to be accurate to within '+' or '-' one folio. By sorting the Page and Person ID no's it is possible to workout family units. 1901 Census GuessTimator @ http://www.leedsindexers.co.uk/Internet_Tools.htm#GuessTimator This is actually a tiny programme. What you get is a little box in which you enter the 'unique' Page ID number that is revealed in the lower bar of the 1901 search results window which is easily accessed by allowing your cursor to 'hang' over the 'image icons'. Census GuessTimator will then produce a Piece and Folio number as above."
