The only Taylors born ca 1848 are Thomas to Thomas & Mary (possibly Primour) bapt. 28 Jan 1749 and Richard to William Taylor (aka Nicholson) & Elizabeth (Buxey) born 11 Dec 1745. Both banns and marriage entry for James and Sarah have them both 'of this parish'. The witnesses were Mary Aldridge and Samuel Rolfe which doesn't help much. James signed the register as TAILOR. A Thos Tailor married Mary Ducket on 6th Sep '62, he could be a brother but I have no evidence for this. A possible James (Jacobus) is the one baptised 2 Mar 1730/31 with parents James (Jacobi) Tailor & Eleanor (Eleonora). These are likely to be the James Taylor and Elenor Baghurst who married on 11 Oct 1719. Nothing else is noted against these names. There are a burial entries for James 22 Nov 1760 and for Eleanor Taylor 24 Oct 1756 which could relate to these two. There are no ages or places noted in the burial register which suggests they were living in Kingsclere (rather than Ecchinswell, that is), It looks as though something was written after 'James Taylor' but it is un-decipherable and may simply have been 'was buried' as is the case with Eleanor. I have nothing at present for any Sarah May but William May and Sarah (Palmer) of Wolverton had a dau. Mary bapt. at St. Mary on 17 Aug 1735. I will have another look at the baptisms to see if I can find them having a Sarah. --- John Lewis <jayellatntlworlddotcom> from Bournemouth, Dorset, UK. using Debian GNU/Linux and GeneWeb genealogy software Main Family Names in HAM are: Kingsclere: BUTLER, COOPER, FISHER, FOSTER, GIRDLER, HAWKINS, SMITH Hazeley Heath: BARKER, CHANDLER, LEWINGTON, NEVILL(E) Main Family Names in GLA are: GRIFFITH, HOPKINS, JENKINS, LEWIS.
