I don't have much on the Grigg family to date. In addition to Ann I have found: Elizabeth married 28 Nov 1791 to Jeoffrey Webb (he signed Jefferey), witness G****** T*** & Mary Grigg John a witness at Mary's wedding Mary married 16 May 1793 to John Blackman, witnesses John Grigg & Elizabeth Webb Stephen (of Wolverton, Hants) married 9 Sep 1793 to Hannah White, witnesses (M)ary Walker & Enos Jacob All at St. Mary, Kingsclere and 'of this parish' unless otherwise stated. So it looks as tho' one Mary at least is a sister. I have got to a marriage for John yet. I had been entering events piecemeal as needed but realised I'd got to the point where I'd do better starting at the beginning and entering everything, as I was going through the fiche time and time again looking for individuals. The 'beginning' in this case being the Kingsclere St. Mary marriage register which commenced on 27th May 1777, I do have the earlier ones from 1682 but they are even harder to read and will keep them for later (much much later at my rate of typing) Once I have a good batch of marriages entered I'll start on baptisms for the same period so gradually build up the overall picture of 'Kingsclere Families' Then hopefully I'll be able to add to my website and have fewer errors. I have yet to find a way of ensuring the right Elizabeth, Mary or Sarah etc. in a family (like the Smiths or Sewards or Rabbits) where there are several possible candidates for any given marriage gets matched to the right husband!! -- John Lewis <jayell@ntlworld.com> from Bournemouth, Dorset, UK using Mandrake GNU/Linux 8.0 and Geneweb genealogy software Main Family Names in HAM are: Kingsclere area: BUTLER, COOPER, FISHER, FOSTER, GIRDLER, HAWKINS Hazeley Heath: BARKER, CHANDLER, LEWINGTON, NEVILL(E) Main Family Names in GLA are: Vale of Glamorgan: GRIFFITH Rumney: LEWIS Aberdare: HOPKINS & JENKINS and CMN: HOPKINS & DAVIES
