The fiche is almost unreadable and it is only because I knew what I was looking for could make out Mary, Stephen and Hannah. Abod eand occupation are quite undecipherable. > Anne Miles born around 1829 married Henry REEVES. Still at Ashford Hill >Hannah Miles born around 1836 Bapt 24 Jan 1836. residing 'On the Common near Ashford Hill' Benjamin bapt to Stephen and Hannah 21 Jul 1838, Ashford Hill, journeyman sawyer I have also looked at burials and found a Daniel Miles of near Headley Common buried 27 July 1833 age 2yrs and 8 months who might be the Daniel bapt 1832. There was another Daniel bapt in Jan '31 but he was from Polhampton Lodge at Overton. Also Mary Miles of Headley Common age 7 buried 26 Mar 1836. The only other Mary born about the same time as your Mary was born May 1828 at Polhampton Lodge. I also noticed the burial of Benjamin Miles of Ashford Hill age 61 at St. Mary on 4 Sep 1837. Benjamin (Myhill) born ca April 1776 had married Mary Bird at St. Mary on 24 Jul 1796. Their first child was Stephen bapt. 24 Mar 1799. This is possibly your Stephen, he is the only Stephen Miles I have recorded so far for Kingsclere. > I found some marriage records by banns that list : > > Stephen and Hannah MILES as witnesses to Thomas TILTON and > Eliza MAY marriage in 30/08/1831 > > John MAY and Louisa MILES as witnesses to Edward LOVELOCK and > Mary Anne MAY marriage in February 1834 > > I don't know if these people are possible relations. The marriage registers of this period don't record father's names so attribution of children to parents has to be 'inspired guesswork' at times. --- John Lewis <jayellatntlworlddotcom> from Bournemouth, Dorset, UK. using Debian GNU/Linux and GeneWeb genealogy software Main Family Names in HAM are: Kingsclere: BUTLER, COOPER, FISHER, FOSTER, GIRDLER, HAWKINS, SMITH Hazeley Heath: BARKER, CHANDLER, LEWINGTON, NEVILL(E) Main Family Names in GLA are: GRIFFITH, HOPKINS, JENKINS, LEWIS.
