Does anyone else have PARSONS or BOOTH in their family? Firstly I am looking for parents of PETER PARSONS. The background here is that John Foster, senior (of Waits Farm) mentions his daughter Sarah Parsons in his will and leaves her the sum of one shilling, the assumption being he had already made provision for when she married. I cannot find where or when she married but I have found children being baptised to Peter and Sarah Parsons, variously in Sidmonton or North Sidmonton betweem 1796 and 1811. I can find no burials for these two in the Hampshire Burials Index. The surprising thing is that Peter is described as a labourer at baptism of at least one child, if Sarah had received the same dowry as her sister Anne KING £1000 (worth over £40,000 in todays currency) she should have been comfortably off. To confuse things John Foster, junior (of Old Farm) also has a dau Sarah who marries a Peter Parsons in 1813, both being minors and marrying with consent of parents. I think this Peter is a son of William Parsons (a Maltser) and Mary Rolfe, baptised Jan 1783 Ecchinswell. In his will John Foster jnr. names his executors as William BOOTH of Echinswell, William PARSONS of Folly Farm, Exmansford and John PRISMALL also of Exmansford so it seems likely that either William, father of Peter or his brother William are William the executor. A William BOOTH had married John jnr's sister Deborah but he is another I cannot find a baptism for. Joshua BOOTH married Mary PARSONS on 10 April 1793, witnesses being William PARSONS and Hannah PARSONS. I am guessing William is the one who married Mary Rolfe but where were they born/baptised and who were their parents? Both Parsons and Booth families were in Ecchinswell/Sidmonton for many years, the earliest Parsons being Alexander born ca 1700 and the earliest Booth being Joshua's father John born ca 1710 but I cannot work out continous lines of descent for either family. Both names feature in other local villages but I cannot link them with the Ecchinswell ones. So is there someone out there with info I haven't yet found. John PRISMALL took over the tenancy of Old Farm at Ashford Hill after John Foster's death and his family is one of those I do have a far amount of detail for. The Booths and Prismalls are inter-related by marriage in two separate generations.
