Courtesy of the 1901 census (at last!) I find my maternal great grandfather, David Moody, born 1841/2, was born in Basingstoke. Quite how a canal bargee/ labourer married a lady from Wolverhampton and settled in Middlewich in mid Cheshire is something of a mystery.
