I have lost track of who has what in terms of fiche but I'd like a lookup in Burghclere marriages and baptisms please. I'm looking for the marriage of James Holmes to an Esther around 1861. The 1881 census has him living at Foscot Lane, Wolverton with wife Esther age 40 born Burclere, dau Sarah age 19 born Burclere and other children born Itchinswell. I have found baptisms for all the Ecchinswell ones so they are no problem. I am also looking for baptisms in Burghclere for Richard and Emily Holmes. They are recorded in the 1851 Thatcham census with Richard born 1845 Kingsclere and Emily born 1848 Burghclere but there is no baptism of Richard to William & Mary Ann Holmes in Kingsclere so possibly he too was baptised in Burghclere. William & Mary Ann Woodhouse married at St. Paul Woodlands in 1848. Subsequent children were born in Thatcham or Crookham according to 51/81 censuses. Carol Dolton would also like a lookup for any Dolton baptisms around 1816, in particular a John Dolton who was living in East Woodhay in 1851 and who said he was born Burghclere. He married a Sarah Jarvis about about 1840 according to FreeBMD in Kingsclere Reg. Dist. Was this a Burghclere marriage by any chance? -- John Lewis <jayellatntlworlddotcom> from Bournemouth, Dorset, UK. using Debian GNU/Linux and GeneWeb genealogy software
