    2. John There is another Andrews marriage which I don't think you have on your website. William Tidbury born about 1744 was the father of my David Tidbury and Glenn's Jeremiah Tidbury senior. He married Charlotte Andrews. She was from Greenham so the Andrews may well be another family who went backwards and forwards across the Hants/Berks border. I haven't looked at the Andrews side at all at the moment but I suppose it's possible that Minnie Andrews could well be related to Charlotte. Here's the full entry for the banns and marriage of William and Charlotte from the Thatcham Parish Registers: 1782 Banns of marriage between William Tidbury of the Chapelry of Greenham in this parish Bachelor Charlotte Andrews of the Chapelry of Greenham in this parish spinster were regularly published in this parish church on the three following Sundays Aug. 18, 25, Sept 1 1782 William Tidbury of the Chapelry of Greenham in this parish Bachelor and Charlotte Andrews of the Chapelry of Greenham in this parish spinster were married in this parish Church by Banns the eighth day of December 1782 by Mr S Thompson vicar. This marriage was solemnised between us William Tidbury (his mark) Charlotte Andrews (her mark) In the presence of John Stroud Edw. Winbolt [Edw. Winbolt was a witness to many of the marriages around this time. He was probably one of the few people in the parish who could read and write so was called upon to act as a witness whenever anyone married. I don't know who John Stroud is.] Best wishes Debbie

I have now amended the Tidbury web page to include this. I have now found a few Andrews baptisms in Kignsclere but in the early 1700s so too early as yet to connect to anything I have previously recorded. > [Edw. John Stroud was possibly a close friend and maybe 'best man' so the obvious person to witness if there were no siblings present. -- John Lewis <jayellatntlworlddotcom> from Bournemouth, Dorset, UK. using Debian GNU/Linux and GeneWeb genealogy software
