Probably John son of Samuel and Martha Seward who married on 19 May 1796 at St. Mary. They had: o Francis ca 1799 o Mary ca 1804 o Martha ca 1806 o John 1809 &1839 Minnie Andrews o Martha ca 1842 o Mary ca 1845 o Jane ca 1848 o Harriet ca 1850 o Elizabeth ca 1811-1811 o George ca 1815 o Charles ca 1819 &1841 Susanna Holmes ca 1821-1848 o Rebecca 1842 o Ellen 1845 o Susannah 1848 o Charles ca 1819 &1850 Rosa Ann Foster 1827 John was born Kingsclere Town and baptised on 5 May 1809 at St Mary Samuel was recorded as sexton in 1819 when Charles was baptised but don't know how many years he did this job. Martha Seward's grandfather Thomas born ca 1687 also married a Troughton, Bridget, on 13 Mar 1737 but I don't know at present time if Samuel was a descendant from Bridget's family. Charles Troughton's first wife Susanna, baptised as Hananiah I think but need to make sure there wasn't a Susanna born to Richard and Elizabeth Holmes or Homes, came from the Holmes family who married into Woodhouse and Rabbits (3 different generations in this case) His second wife Rosa Ann Foster was a cousin of my gt-grandfather Thomas Cooper. I haven't checked to see if they had any children yet. -- John Lewis <jayellatntlworlddotcom> from Bournemouth, Dorset, UK. using Debian GNU/Linux and GeneWeb genealogy software
