Witnesses: William Smith & Sylvia Piper. William's father also William, Charlotte's was George. Both of Exelsford I have William Smith, married Sylvia Piper on 27 Feb 1841 also at St. Mary and am assuming Charlotte & William were siblings. > They had three children baptised at St Mary's > > John 1838 > George 1841 > Sarah 1843 Thanks for those as I didn't have them listed. > and a fourth Dorcas who I believe was baptised at St Paul's, Woodlands in > 1846. Bapt. St. Paul on 1 Nov 1846, entry no. 33. She married Josiah (or Joseph) Rabbitts (later Roberts) in 1864and had lots of kids. > These baptisms all seem to use the name HEDGECOCK. I don't have these two children recorded but the Ann Hiscock with father William who married Charles Waite could be her. Checking the register gives Ann born 7 Mar, bapt 16th June 1833 to William & Ann Hedgecock of Ecchinswell (entry 214). John born 19 Aug bapt. 13 Mar 1836to William & Ann Hiscock of Ecchinswell (entry 519) > My suspicions are: > > 1) That the William married to Ann later married Charlotte SMITH, perhaps > following the death of Ann possibly in childbirth. I'll do some more checking later, this is a family I'd like to get sorted as well since one of my Mother's cousins married John James Hiscock at Ecchinswell about 1824 and Hiscocks also married into the Foster & Fisher families -- John Lewis <jayellatntlworlddotcom> from Bournemouth, Dorset, UK. using Debian GNU/Linux and GeneWeb genealogy software
