Hi Listers, I am new to this list and would appreciate some help tracing an elusive ancestor.James Wait married Alice Chittle in Whitchurch on 25-05-1738 .The parish records have James as coming from Kingsclere, so I have no detail of his birth or parentage. Alice was 19 years old when they married, so I assume James would be of similar age, probably born around 1718, but again I could be completely wrong in that assumption. Hi Frank, Welcome to Kingsclere. I have looked all around the dates of 1738 for the surname of WAIT, but so far nothing. There is a problem looking on the microfiche, some of the fiche is so poor you cannot read some of it. If I do come across any of the WAIT family I will contact you. Hi Frank, I have found this marriage:- Charles WAITE full age, bachelor, gardener of Kingsclere. Father George WAITE, Labourer to Ann HISCOCK full age, spinster of Kingsclere.
