You are indeed correct in saying it was Sarah Taylor who married Joseph Shackelford. I am at a loss as to how I mixed up Sarah with Mary, whilst the fiche isn't particularly clear in places it is clearly Sarah Taylor of Kingsclere parish.. Witnesses: were Charles? Marshall & John Fulker, entry no. 324 in the St. Mary Register. Nothing there to help decide who Sarah is tho. I have two possibles, one is the Sarah born 11 Oct 1751 and baptised at St. Mary, Kingsclere on 9 Nov 1751 with parents John & Sarah Taylor. The other was baptised on 17 Oct 1757 at St. Mary with parents William & Mary (Parsons) Taylor. Of these the first seems the most likely but I have no idea how her parents fit into the Taylor families I have recorded. I had a Thomas Jeffery married to Mary ? but no marriage date so that has filled in that missing detail. Witnesses to their marriage were Robert Bear & Richard Rode and it was entry no 78 in the St. Mary Register. Children I have recorded for Thomas & Mary are: Mary, born about January 1805, Kingsclere, baptized on 13 January 1805, St. Mary, Kingsclere. Married (1) on 14 February 1828, St. Mary, Kingsclere, to Thomas Brown, born about 1801, died in August 1830, Kingsclere, buried on 3 August 1830, St. Mary, Kingsclere (age at death: possibly 29 years old). Married (2) on 28 July 1832, St. Mary, Kingsclere, to James Hutchins, born about February 1806, Ashford Hill, Kingsclere, baptized on 16 February 1806, St. Mary, Kingsclere. Grace, born about May 1809, Kingsclere, baptized on 28 May 1809, St. Mary, Kingsclere. David, born about May 1813, Ashford Hill, baptized on 16 May 1813, St. Mary, Kingsclere. Married on 23 May 1836, St. Mary, Kingsclere, to Harriet Dyer, born about May 1816, Hawkers Hill, Woodlands, baptized on 2 June 1816, St. Mary, kingsclere, died before 1881. Do these children fit with what you have Brian? My apologies to anyone who may have been mislead by my error. John Lewis
