Hello Everybody, Barbara has asked me to post a message regarding the result of my fourteen years search for Ann Bridg(e)man, who as Anne Tyrell married Charles Stocker at East Woodhay in 1762. They were my 4 x g.g.parents. Ann Bridgeman married John Tyrrell at East Woodhay 08021757. John was buried there 18091757. There was a son, also John, who was buried there as an infant 24091758. Besides searching for other ancestors, I have from time to time, checked various baptism registere for Ann(e) both in adjacent Hampshire parishes and others in Wuiltshire and Berkshire, these counties being very close to East Woodhay. I failed for fourteen years! However, John Lewis pointed out to me that there were some Bridg(e)man marriages in Burghclere, which was one of the few local parishes I had not previously checked and Margaret Moon in Australia, who has fiches of the parish registers, found a christening for Ann, daughter of Isaac Burgeman 14031737, which I think will turn out to be 1737/8 as the old calendar was in use in that parish at that time. On my next visit to H.R.O. I hope to clarify that point, I am aware the fiches for the parish are very faint in places. I am as satisfied as one can be that the search for Ann(e) is over, there is no burial for an Ann Bridg(e)man/Burgeman on HGS burial index and no other marriage has come to light for an A.B. Her parents were undoubtedly Isaac Bridgeman and Ann Eames who were married in Burghclere 03101736. I know that many people on this list have Bridgeman ancestry so this information may help somebody else. I have checked several indeses in the past few days and the surname, besides being in Burghclere and Kingsclere, is also in Newtown and Thatcham, all these parishes being in a small group. It appears therfore that searches of baptism and marriage regisres for the four parishes mentioned might profit other list members, I shall be doing so as soon as I can. Hopefully, somebody may succeed in their Bridgeman quest as a result of this information, and thank you John and Margaret for the assistance which shows the effectiveness of this type of mailing list. Cheers for now, Rod in Andover.
