Looking at it another way could the register entry be incorrect, in that Lydia is a mis-spelt version of Letitia, not as far fetched as it sounds if the entry was written up sometime later possibly from memory or a scribbled note on a scrap of paper and who was there to see it to say it was wrong. Also if you think about it and try pronouncing the names with the emphasis on the wrong syllables the names can sound very similar.
