I'd found a note of these two marriages in the Phillimore indexes as well as two other earlier ones in Burghclere which I think fit into my tree though I'm not yet sure how they all tie together. I have the following. Perhaps you might have some further information to fill in some of the gaps or perhaps someone else on the list might have some connections (yet another troublesome border-crossing family I'm afraid!): Children of Francis Tidbury: Francis Tidbury had seven children, all baptised at St Mary's, Thatcham, Berks. Unfortunately Francis's wife's name is left blank in the registers as though the vicar doesn't know her name or has forgotten it. Francis possibly married Jane Hobbs on 21st January 1732 at Shalden, Hampshire (IGI). Francis Tidbury, labourer, died an accidental death in 1749 and was buried at St Mary's, Thatcham, on 30th August 1749. The children of Francis Tidbury are: 1. Solomon Tidbury, baptised on 11th November 1733/4 at St Mary's, Thatcham. There are no marriages for Solomon Tidbury in Berkshire but there are two marriages in the Phillimore indexes in Burghclere: 26 Dec 1763 Solomon Tidbury married Mary Bond at Burghclere. 10 Jun 1771 Solomon Tidbury married Sarah Dyer at Burghclere. Did Solomon marry twice or was there another Solomon born elsewhere in Hampshire? The Sally Tidbury who married Francis Bridgman and the Mary Tidbury who married Meled Smith are presumably Solomon's daughters. There is however a baptism on the IGI for Sally Tidbury daughter of George and Mary Tiggle on 4th October 1778 at Hartley Westpall, Hampshire. 2. Noah Tidbury, baptised in March 1734/5 at St Mary's, Thatcham. He is probably the Noah who married Betty Ridley, a widow of Uffington, by licence on 30th December 1775 at St Mary's, Thatcham. Noah was 'of Greenham' at the time of the marriage. 3. Ann Tidbury, baptised on 5th December 1736/7 at St Mary's, Thatcham. She is possibly the Ann Tidbury 'spinster from Burghclere' who was buried at St Mary's, Thatcham, on 9th June 1771. 4. Moses Tidbury, baptised on 24th December 1738/9 at St Mary's, Thatcham. He was buried on 20th September 1761 at St Mary's, Thatcham ('Moses Tidbery from Greenham'). 5. Aaron Tidbery, baptised on 23rd August 1741/2 at St Mary's, Thatcham. 6. Martha Tidbery baptised on 14th August 1743/4 at St Mary's, Thatcham 'daughter of Francis and [blank] Tidbury'. 7. William Tidbury, baptised on 5th June 1745/6 at St Mary's, Thatcham 'son of Francis and [blank] Tidbery'. He is probably the William Tidbury who married Charlotte Andrews on 8th December 1782 at St Mary's, Thatcham (they are my 4xg grandparents). William Tidbury was buried on 7th December 1822 aged 78 years in Kingsclere (making his birth year 1744). Best wishes Debbie
