Carol, Christina and John (this message has been delayed for 6 days by Mailer-Daemon) John Rumbold was my husband's great grandfather. He died in his prime from an accident in the field, according to my late mother-in-law. His horse threw him and he was carried home on a farmyard gate. His widow and three daughters had to live in penury for the rest of their lives - from being waited on by servants, the three girls were obliged to go into service themselves. I have a lot of information on John Rumbold and his family, in which the eldest son in each generation was named John, at Swait's Farm, Ecchinswell. Unfortunately, my papers are at home in Winchester and I will not be able to check until I go back for a few weeks in November. Best wishes to all, Mary Phillips P.S. Carol, when you say "a number of their children came to Australia" do you mean your Prismalls, or those of Mary Rumbold and Joshua Booth?
