    3. Hello Debbie and All, The MILES family that you mentioned help build the Thatcham, Berkshire Primitive Methodist Church, as they were carpenters. The Church had their own magazine, monthly publication, I believe. I presume that the | Kingsclere baptisms in these registers took place at Kingsclere Chapel. I | started to make a note of a few names but then realised there were far too many | and time was running out as I had a child to collect from school. If you're | missing any Kingsclere baptisms these registers are well worth a look. Here are a | few baptisms which might be of help to some of you: | | 1874 March 31st Eliza Beatrix daughter of David and Eliza Miles of Ashford | Hill Wood dealer | | 1874 March 31st Blanche daughter of Frederick and Caroline Butler of August | Hill, Kingsclere Parish Labourer | | 1874 April 14th Frederick Israel Joel and Mary Hutchings Ashford Hill | Labourer | | I noticed in particular that there were quite a few Girdlers. The Newbury | Methodist Circuit also covers Greenham and Leckhampstead Thicket. | | Best wishes | | Debbie | | | ============================== | To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: | http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 |
