Hi Could someone help with the Portsmouth family After 3 years of looking this is the info so far (which is not much) William Portsmouth married Eliza Rawlins 5 July 1845 on their marriage certificate no church name just in the parish of Kingsclere by John Johnstone Rector of Baughurst. Both William and Eliza were of full age William father was William and both were labourers Eliza's father was Charles Rawlins labourer On 25 Sept 1845 they had a daughter Elizabeth born Kingsclere William was a farm labourer On 4 May 1849 at noon they had a son Charles William born in the Union workhouse Kingsclere William was a farmer labourer. By 1851 the family were in Stratford On Avon 1881 the family were in Dorset 1891 Dorset 1901 Reading they had 3 other known children Edward born circ 1854 where unknown Charlotte born circa 1860's where unknown Jacob Charles born circa 1864 unknown Great Grandfather unable to find births 4 certificates later still the wrong family This is the most elusive family so if anyone else is researching or can help with the Portsmouth I would be most grateful Regards Ros Ros Portsmouth in the City of Bath --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
