Prompted by another Kingsclere lister, I've obtained a copy of a legal declaration made by Jeremiah HEDGECOCK of Baughurst in May 1838 concerning properties owned by the Parish. The document is from the archives of the (Duke of) Wellington Estate. It mentions and gives brief descriptions of the homes/land occupied by the following: John KING Joseph SMITH Thomas HEDGECOCK (& Jeremiah) James PRIOR William GUNDEY Peter HAWKINS John BUTLER William HITCHCOCK If anyone else on the Kingsclere list is researching these folk and would like a copy of the document, I can help.
